Thirst for Colour

Thirst for Colour
2020

Installation with textiles, 600 x 600cm.

Commissioned by The Corner at Whitman-Walker as part of the exhibition
See you there: Making History at Whitman-Walker.
Curated by Ruth Noack.

The Corner, a cultural centre embedded in Whitman-Walker,  specialising in LGBTQ+  and HIV health care
since the late 1970s, explores the intersection between art, health and education.  It is solely constructed by
folding large pieces of textiles in particular angles so that they jointly form a large vortex. The work is developed
in relation to the evolving history of flags, in particular the idea of forming and reforming identity.
